Small Business SEO

For the past six months I have been working on a variety of small business websites and I am delighted with some of the search engine optimisation results.  Some of them have been languishing on the second or third page of the Google.ie search results.

Now after some changes, simple changes for some of them, many of them are ranking in the first page.

Most small businesses are competing in micro niches and using location modifiers can make it much easier for them to be found.  For example people search not just for “accountant” but for “accountant Glasgow” these changes can have you topping the search results in your own county or town.  These changes are fairly easy to make on your site.

Before your hire a SEO consultant ask for some references – see some of their work to date.    Decide on your budget for online marketing and let them know upfront – SEO is not cheap, however it will and should provide a good return on the investment, and unlike traditional advertising the results can be long lasting.
