I have lifted my head from the computer screen to start and notice what is going on around me – only a little mind you. More often than not I don’t read many of the emails that come to me – I see who they are from and run down them all with the delete button. It’s not that I am rude, but I have been so busy from the last couple of years. However today I opened the email from the IIA from earlier telling me about Digitise the Nation.
This year my New Year resolution was to work less in 2011. So far I am just about doing it. I am just not very good at walking away from work or my computer – it is hard to say you are too busy when you run your own company, more so given the times we live in.
So I wonder what goes on in my head when I give up my time for nothing. Admittedly it is not much time and it should only take me 4 or 5 hours over the week of Digitise the Nation. I am offering 5 half hour SEO review sessions for nothing during the week 9th May to 13th. However I am asking that each person give a minimum of €10 to Barnardos, though it is not compulsory.
In my head I like the idea of community. It is one of the few reasons I turn up at church occasionally. It is too easy for me to moan about the lack of community feeling and harder for me to do something about it. This is my little contribution for May 2011.
Digitise the Nation is being organised by the IIA and more can be read about it on the Digitise the Nation website.
How I can Help in 30 Minutes
I help companies every day of the week to get more business from their website by increasing their ranking in Google.
Much of SEO, the basics, is very simple and very easy to learn for anyone running their own site or their company site, and I hope to pass on that information.
I will point out anything on your site that I think can be done better and suggest ways for you to fix the problems.
A lot can be covered in 30 minutes. It will be a first come first severed basis and we will arrange mutually convenient times for the review.
Hopefully at the end of the week I will write a review of the sites I look at and how it all went.
Can you do anything to help with Digitise the Nation? Go on, have a look and give a few hours of your time.
